Good Morning Stingray Families!

It is hard to believe that we are already heading into the final week of the 2026 Stingray season! 💙 Thank you for making this another fun and successful summer. We have several important reminders and updates for the week ahead.

🎨 Monday, July 13 – Team Activity (6:00 PM)

Join us at the pool tonight at 6:00 PM for a fun team activity!

We'll be:

• Decorating clothespins to exchange with swimmers from other teams at the District Meet.
• Making SOCO shirts (optional) to wear at District.

If you'd like to make a shirt, please bring a plain black T-shirt to the pool tonight.

🏊 Tuesday, July 14 – Last Regular Practice

Tuesday will be our final regular practice of the season.

• ✅ Morning practices will be held as usual.
• ❌ There will be no evening practice so everyone can get plenty of rest before District.
• Our 8 & Under swimmers are welcome to attend the 8:00–8:50 AM practice if they'd like a little extra pool time.

🚌 Team Bus: Departs the Socorro Pool at 5:45 AM

🚗 Driving: Please have your swimmer at Albuquerque Country Club no later than 7:20 AM.

🏊 Warm up is 8:00 AM, Meet Begins: 8:30 AM

Custom Stingray Swim Caps

One of this year's end-of-season gifts is a custom Stingray swim cap!

Swim caps will be handed out Wednesday morning before the meet.

All swimmers are required to wear their team swim cap during District and Finals.

⭐ Championship (Finals) Practice

Swimmers who qualify for the Sundance Championship Meet (to be held at Albuquerque Academy) will practice on Thursday and Friday at regular practice times.

We will contact qualifying families Wednesday evening with additional details.

🎉 End-of-Season Banquet

⏰ 6:00 pm

Join us as we celebrate an amazing season!

The team will provide:

• 🌭 Hot dogs
• 🥖 Hot dog buns
• Mustard, ketchup, relish
• Plates, napkins, and utensils

Please bring:

• A side dish, dessert, fruit, veggies, chips, or hot dog toppings to share.
• Your family's drinks.

After we eat, we'll present awards and end-of-season gifts before opening the pool (weather permitting) for swimmers, siblings, and families to enjoy!

🏆 How Do Swimmers Qualify for the Championship meet?

There are two ways to qualify for the Sundance Championship Meet on Saturday, July 18 (to be held at Albuquerque Academy):

🥇 Automatic Qualifier: Finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall in an event at the District Meet (overall results—not just your swimmer's heat).

⭐ Wildcard: After all district meets conclude, the league selects the next seven fastest swimmers from all districts in each event.

This creates the Top 16 swimmers in each event who advance to Championships.

🏊 Relay Teams: Relays are not swam at the District Meet. Each team may enter one relay team per age group and gender at the Championship Meet.

Coaches will determine relay teams based on District results and overall season performances. Families of swimmers selected for relay teams will also be notified Wednesday evening.

We will contact all wildcard qualifiers and relay team members Wednesday night with additional information and practice details.
