District information

Please let me know immediately if you cannot attend district (7/10) and finals (7/13).

Our district meet is Wednesday (7/10) at Albuquerque Country Club  Time is TBA. There will be a bus available. As soon as we know what time the meet starts, we will send out bus/arrival times. 

Entries

On swimtopia we have a meet called District Swim Meet Preferred Entries. Please use swimtopia to enter your swimmers preferred events or contact me, Coach Cody, (505-321-2630) with preferred entries. The coaches and I will sit down Saturday and submit our finalized entries for the district. We sometimes change entries from a swimmers preference for a couple of reasons:

Greater chance at qualifying for finals. We sometimes change a swimmers event to give them a better chance to qualify for finals.

Improper or illegal stroke. We sometimes change a swimmer's event if they swim an improper or illegal stroke and would be disqualified.

How do swimmers qualify for finals?

If your swimmer places top 3 in district (overall, not just in their heat), they automatically qualify for Finals this Saturday 7/13. On Thursday, we will meet with the league and then take the next fastest 7 swimmers from all the districts as "wildcards". We will notify you Thursday evening if your swimmer qualifies as a wildcard. This will give us the top 16 swimmers in each event.

Swim Caps

One of the end of the year gifts is a custom swim cap. The coaches will be handing them out on Tuesday for the swimmers to wear to District/Finals. Each swimmer must wear the swim cap to district/finals.

Shirts

The coaches are making shirts for district, and we are inviting swimmers to match. This is entirely optional. If any swimmers or parents would like to join, they can bring us a black t-shirt before Sunday.
