Stingray Swim Season Starts June 1st
Good Evening,
We are so excited to be able to be back in the water!! Practices will be starting June 1st at the Tech pool. Practice this week will be Tuesday through Thursday (6/1-3/2021). We will have an informal meeting at the beginning of each practice session on Tuesday. Please read the swim practice policy prior to the first practice (posted at the end of this email). Practice schedule is as follows:
8 and under = 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm
9 to 10 = 2:00 pm to 2:55 pm
11 to 12 = 7:00 pm to 7:55 pm
13 to 18 = 8:00 pm to 8:55 pm
We will be there at the beginning and end of each practice to collect registration checks for your swimmer(s). You can make the checks payable to the Socorro Stingrays. If you would like to pay online, go to the website store and select the options you wish to purchase (registration, optional silicone cap and optional goggles). You can then go to the cart and purchase these items. Once completed, the registration will be applied to your account. https://socorrostingrays.swimtopia.com/shop
We highly recommend that you to visit the website and read the information on the website for a successful season. https://socorrostingrays.swimtopia.com
This year, we will be communicating through the swimtopia platform (via email and alerts) instead of remind (what we used in the past). You are strongly encouraged to download the swimtopia app and enable notifications.
Practice Policies
Socorro Stingrays Summer Swim Team – Covid Safe Practices
Safety is the # 1 priority for the Socorro Stingrays Swim team. Swimming does not require direct contact between teammates or coaches and social distancing can be maintained throughout practice. Please see our plan below.
General Guidelines
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-li...
Practices will be limited to approximately 18 -24 swimmers per session, with no more than four (4) swimmers in any single lane at a time. Practice times will be 50-55 minutes with a 5-10 break between groups. It is recommended that swimmers wear “face coverings” while entering and leaving the facility. Please practice social distancing guidelines.
If you are in doubt that your swimmer can swim the distance of the pool, we will have preliminary registration. Go ahead and fill out the registration form online and we will not collect payment from you until June 3rd. June 1-3 will be set aside to make sure your swimmer is able swim the distance of the pool. If they are not able to by the end of the week, we will cancel your registration for you and you can enroll them in swim lessons.
Preparing to swim:
Swimmers will enter the pool through the courtyard on the side closest to the main entrance and exit the courtyard on the side closest to the tennis courts.
Hand sanitizer will be available at entry point.
Bring a full bottle of water. NO sharing of water allowed.
Swimmers should come to practice ready to swim. Swimmers must wear their swimsuit to the pool. Clothes may be worn over suits, so long as no changing is required, as restrooms are to be used only for going to the bathroom. - No use of locker rooms to change/shower.
Swimmers will be assigned a social distancing grid space for each practice. We ask that you only bring what is necessary for practice and limit the items that come into the facility. Once swimmers enter the pool area, they will go immediately to their assigned spot and await instructions from their coach.
Swimmer will only be permitted to enter the building 5 minutes before their scheduled practice or class. If they arrive early, they must wait outside until the appropriate time to enter the pool.
GO STINGRAYS!!!!!
